Just like Botox and Dysport, the major component of the Xeomin injection is also a botolinum toxin known as the incobotolinumtoxinA. The only difference this kind of toxin has in comparison to other types is that it does not have to be placed in the refrigeration before it is reconstituted.
The mechanism of action of Xeomin is similar to the other botolinum A toxin-using injections. It inhibits nerve activities in areas where it is injected, which results to decreased muscular activity. When injected to the frown lines in between the eyebrows, Xeomin will then cause relaxation of the muscles in that area; and as a result, it will also temporarily iron-out the glabellar lines.
