A slim, cinched in waist has long been an indication of youthfulness and health, and it is not always easy to obtain by diet and exercise alone. At H-MD Medical Spa, we know how desirable a sleek body contour can be, and we are excited to offer liposculpting to help you get that elusive waistline. This is a procedure that does just what it claims, it sculpts problem areas like the waist and abdomen, creating a smooth image that may be difficult for many to achieve even with the aid of a personal trainer.
Though the waist and abdomen are common areas, this procedure can be performed in various parts of the body where fat is stored. Stubborn subcutaneous fat can be difficult to mobilize, even with a strict regimen from a personal trainer or dietician, and this is where liposculpting comes in.
What Is Liposculpting?
Liposculpting, or liposculpture, is a surgical procedure that sculpts the body by removing fat deposits located between muscle and skin. Liposculpture is considered by some to be synonymous with liposuction, although liposculpture has specific connotations of creating a certain body contour, rather than merely removing fat cells. Although liposculpture can be part of a weight loss program, clients should expect to lose, at most, 10 pounds from the procedure.
What Areas Can Be Targeted?
What’s great about liposculpture is that it can target any area where subcutaneous fat is stored. Areas that are commonly treated are:
- Double Chin
- Waist (Love handles)
- And more
What Can I Expect During and After The Process?
LIposculpting is a cosmetic procedure that involves suctioning out fat cells from target areas using tubes called cannulas placed under the skin through small incisions. Depending on the area to be sculpted, the team may use a local anesthetic or general anesthesia and intravenous sedation. Most liposculpting involves using a special technique to minimize bruising and blood loss.
You will see results in stages. As fat is surgically removed during the procedure, you’re likely to see results right away. These results should become more dramatic over time as you recover from your liposculpture. Expect to take time off from work during your recovery period. Long-term results will vary depending on the person, but it can take several months to achieve your final body contour. In some individuals, it may take longer though you will have a follow-up with the team to monitor your progress.
Am I A Good Candidate?
Anyone who is not completely satisfied with their body contour is a potential candidate for liposculpting though the best candidates are men and women close to their goal weight. Liposculpting is not ideal for clients with BMIs over 30 or clients who are not candidates for surgical procedures.
If you’d like to say goodbye to unwanted pockets of fat permanently, than Liposculpting may be the ideal procedure for you helping you get the body contour you have always wanted. As every client is different in their own special way, the team at H-MD Medical Spa will meet with you to determine if liposculpting is right for you. Call today to schedule a consultation.
